Combined Specialized Services or Behavioural Developmental Aide and ECS (PUF) Program

Offers an individualized program for children 2 years and 8 months to 6 years of age, who are approved for either Specialized Services or Behavioural Developmental Aide funding (via Family Supports for Children with Disabilities) and Program Unit Funding (via Alberta Education). Individualized programming is provided in the child’s home, community (e.g., outings, recreation programs, preschools, Kindergarten) and within a specialized classroom environment onsite at SASS; with focus on the individual learning needs of the children and their families. This Program runs twelve months a year.

Early Intervention Program – Toddler Model

Offers individualized services for children less than 3 years. Parent/caregiver support is provided in the child’s home, focusing on active engagement, social-communication, and skill development within daily routines. Support is provided by a speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, clinical assistant, and family support worker. This is a 6-month program. Funding may provided by FSCD via Behavioural/Developmental Supports or potentially from an SASS scholarship (for families who do not currently have FSCD services) if available.

Specialized Services or Behavioural Developmental Aide Supports Program

Offers individualized programs for children less than 3 years who are approved for Specialized Services or Behavioural Developmental Aide funding via Family Support for Children with Disabilities and do not qualify (due to their age) for a PUF program. Individualized Programming is provided in the child’s home, and community. Hours are based on the individualized need of the child and family.

ECS Program

Offers individualized programs for children 2 years and 8 months to 6 years of age and is conducted in the classrooms at the Society for Autism Support and Services as well as a variety of integrated  community settings, as deemed appropriate for your child (i.e., preschools, kindergartens, recreation programs).
